I found this photo in a copy of "Collected Fictions" by Jorge luis Borges.

Whenever I see it it always intrigues me, as though it were part of the book - one of the fictions.
I have often scoured the photo for some clue that would let me track her down, or maybe write a story about tracking her down.

I have used it as a book mark ever since.

I'm not certain, but I think this photo was taken in Glacier National Park, summer of 2000. We were all working as teachers on the Blackfeet Indian reservation...

This is great.. I would do the same thing. I love finding random pieces of other people's lives inside used books.

A wonderful treasure to find! I use photos of loved ones as bookmarks when I am traveling away from them...maybe this girls love was doing the same...

This photo inspired me to make a story for her. Here it is in first person narrative.

My name is Sarah, I am a college student studying to be a teacher for elementary school children with special needs. I found the most joy in my life that day when I was swept up in the beauty of the Glacier National Park.
I will be married to a wonderful man that is devoted to me and inspires me to be a wife, a mother, a friend and a teacher for kids that truely need love and attention.
As I sit on these rocks, I am wondering what will happen in my life, but mostly I am enjoying the sun and the wind and the fact that I will live to love, laugh and inspire. Think of me often.

I think this may be a picture of me...where was it found? Do you remember approximately when you found it? Please let me know, because I really think it might be me.

I purchased the volume, in which the picture was found, at Powells on Hawthorne, in Portland, OR. last summer (2007).

This picture is me.
No doubt about it.
I showed my friends and they couldn't believe it. (Although I don't know how it ended up in Oregon.) I find this all so odd.

This is great! We all have twins! When I was 16, I went to Canada and stayed on a lake, I remember sitting out on a rock like this. Not sure of the background though. hhhhmmm were hooded t's "in" then? I corresponded with a guy from there after that, probably sent a photo. Funny thing, like the story from "Robert", I went onto college and now work with students with special needs.....

this is still the most inspiring story of a lost photo posted on ifoundyourcamera. so much so that i suddenly remembered it one day and wanted to check back on its updates several months later. i love that it was found in borges' collected fictions. i love the book itself and i think the mood of the photo fits perfectly in it.
