"On Saturday Feb. 13, my wife and I found a small digital camera at Aireys Inlet, Victoria. The camera clearly belongs to a young couple that have been touring Australia. They have visited Fraser Island, Cairns, Central Australia, South Australia and now Victoria. The couple appear to be backpackers, but I cannot figure out whether they are Australian or from another country. One of the images is of some writing in the sand that says “Happy 21st Vicky” – so I’m assuming the girl’s name is Vicky.

We would dearly like to return the camera to the couple, as I am sure they would be devastated by its loss. If there is anything you could do to help that would be great!"

"An Olympus 2GB XD memory card in its clear plastic case was found in Lancelin, on a beach in Western Australia on Dec. 26, 2009.

The photos on the card were taken between August and September 2009 and seem to be holiday snaps from Jordan, Italy and other locations."

----Email Message----

On Oct. 30, I found a camera washed up on the beach on the Gold Coast in QLD Australia. It was in pretty bad shape and looked like it had been in the ocean a long time. I was going to throw it away but decided to smash it open and see what was on the memory card if it was ok.

There was 292 pictures of a young couple and their travels. The metadata said the last picture was taken Jan. 27 - that means it was in the ocean for 9 months.

Anyway I have been through the pictures and zoomed in on everything and anything and believe the couple are French Canadian. There are photos of snow, Canadian flags and people drinking Canadian beer.

I am pulling my hair trying to find them.

"I found a fairly new Panasonic compact digital camera on a suburban train in Sydney. It has about 50 pictures mostly of Sydney but some early ones dated around Christmas. The language was set to German. If anyone can provide some detailed information on time and date of loss and some of the photos in the memory card I will arrange to return the camera."

"We haven't found the camera, but 3 cards have been located containing around 1,500 images and short videos, possibly from a Sony DCS-H3 camera. The owner may be a lady named Nicole.

The places the people visited are as follows:

- India on Feb. 24, 2008

- New York on Apr. 5, 2008

- Hawaii on Apr. 15, 2008

- A volcano somewhere on Apr. 21, 2008"

"On a recent trip to Fraser Island, I came across a camera washed up on the beach on the eastern side of the Island at a place known as Indian Head. It had a waterproof casing that appeared to be in poor condition...even with a few barnacles attached."

"There are quite a few underwater shots around a ship wreck."

"I appears that it has been floating about the Pacific ocean for about 4 months before landing on Fraser Island."

"This memory card was found on Anzac Day, 25th April 2008 on the roadside at the McIvor Shire side of the Redesdale Bridge in central Victoria, Australia. Looks like the photographer had been to Puckapunyal and Ballarat as well."

"I found this camera amongst the thousands of empty beer cups on the ground at the 2007 Movember Gala Parte, Docklands, 30th November 2007. The camera doesn't work as but there are some great shots of the awesome night and a lot of other holiday snaps that may be of sentimental value to the owner."
