"Found a Canon G9 camera and full memory card at the Grand Canyon on Nov. 12. General sightseeing pictures with two guys in the photos. Language set in the camera menus was French, and the time set in the camera matched western Europe, so I'm guessing that at least the camera owner was French. Could that be a Univ of Michigan "M" on the yellow vest?"

Subject: One Orphan Photo

This is a picture of a little boy that I took on the train back from the Grand Canyon in April 2007. The boy was sitting in front of me, and occasionally he would stick his nose over the seat. After a little while it became a game, where I would pretend not to notice him, and then suddenly look up, sending him into a fit of giggles.

I happened to be holding my camera at the time, so as part of the game I whipped up my camera and got this shot, which managed to capture the moment precisely.

I think he (or his mom, who was with him on the trip,) might like to have a copy of the photo since it’s really nice, if I do say so myself.

Sorry for waiting so long to send this in. I didn’t know about the website until recently.

Thanks

Julie

It was at the Grand Canyon in March 2006 of 3 people of a larger group who call themselves the "Dedham Gang". They were friends who had traveled all over the world, for many years. Though I only spent 2 minutes with them, I could tell they were very happy in their travels.

The more I look at the photo, the more I am struck by their joy. At least that's what I get from it.

"I found this disposable camera while hiking up the Havasu Canyon in the Grand Canyon, Arizona around June 17th, 2008. The camera was sitting in the shade of a boulder about a mile from the Colorado River. It appears to be from a commercial motor-trip that was running the Colorado River."
