"Found this camera sitting on a post at Pescadero Beach on Hwy 1, South of Half Moon Bay and North of Santa Cruz, on Apr. 25, 2009. I would have left it for someone to come back but it looked like it might rain. It only has 7 pictures, looks like 2 girls and 1 guy on a road bike trip. Hope they check this website, it’s a nice camera."

"I found a camera on the shores of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, the week of Mar. 16-20, 2009. It was right at the edge of the ocean, washed in the waves. The memory card was fine and I've tried to revive the camera but there appears to be too much sand/water.

Photos include car damage, a Josh Turner concert, "going to Pitt", a new tattoo, baking Christmas cookies, and a few kissing pics.

Would love to reunite the owner with their lost photos!"

"On Valentines Day 2009, I found an SD card in San Francisco during the flash pillow fight. I saved it from being stepped on. I hope they can be reunited with their owner."

"The camera was found at the end of August last summer. It was found on the road in front of the Hatfield Marine Science Center in Newport, Oregon. The camera is junk because it was probably ran over by a car, but the photos and memory card are fine. Dates of the photos on the card are from Aug. 2-17."

"I found a fairly new Panasonic compact digital camera on a suburban train in Sydney. It has about 50 pictures mostly of Sydney but some early ones dated around Christmas. The language was set to German. If anyone can provide some detailed information on time and date of loss and some of the photos in the memory card I will arrange to return the camera."

"I found a black soft camera case on the sidewalk at Rockefeller Center on Mar. 19, 2009. Inside was an Apacer memory card with about 250 photos. I think the owner is an Italian woman named Isabella. The photos show many people, some special events, and some beautiful tropical vacation shots. I would like to return this to the owner."

IFoundYourCamera was featured in an article by Brad Stone in the Apr. 8 edition of the New York Times.

A reader commented on my quote that when people are given the opportunity to the right thing, they'll take it. The reader questioned the statistic, and said that although they go out of their way to return lost items, their lost items have never been returned.

What do you think? Do you think people will do the right thing when given the opportunity? And if your lost camera hasn't been returned yet, do you write it off as stolen, or think that it just hasn't been found yet?

Please discuss.

"A 1Gb “Pico” USB device was found at the Rock Hole Area Carpark at Mt. Mee State Forest, QLD, Australia on Sunday Mar. 8. The name of the device is “Bec”, and I’m assuming that’s the owners name."

I found a Nikon camera in the back of a cab in Philadelphia on Mar. 7, 2009. I'm presuming the owner is the girl in the first photo. If the owner recognizes these pictures, please let me know what type of Nikon it is and other events and pictures they have on the camera so I can make sure it's the actual owner!"

"I found this camera in Joplin, MO on our convenient store parking lot. The camera was obviously brand new since it still had the tag on it! I'm willing to return it to the rightful owner who can identify it!"

"I found a camera during Obama's Inauguration "We Are One" concert. The camera was found on the East Side of the Washington Monument. I've tried reaching out to the National Park Service, and to Kodak to no avail. 'm hoping you can help. It looks like a honeymoon, and someone's 100th birthday.

The camera is a Kodak Easyshare C875 with a 2 GB card."

"We haven't found the camera, but 3 cards have been located containing around 1,500 images and short videos, possibly from a Sony DCS-H3 camera. The owner may be a lady named Nicole.

The places the people visited are as follows:

- India on Feb. 24, 2008

- New York on Apr. 5, 2008

- Hawaii on Apr. 15, 2008

- A volcano somewhere on Apr. 21, 2008"

"I found the camera in Vail, Colorado, on one of the slopes, half buried in snow on Jan. 20, 2008. It failed to power up, but the memory card retained the pictures."

"I found a camera in the back of a cab at about 10 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 20 in Washington, DC. If the owner can tell me the model of the camera as well as some of the other photos on the camera, I will return it."
