Hello Matt,

I returned the camera to Raechel, she was extremely happy, and I must confess that I was very happy too. Thanks a lot for this great service. It is a great idea!

Matt-
This is a great experience for me as well. I never in a million years would have thought that I would get my camera back, the pictures that were on the camera were extremely important. They included things like the BIRTH of my daughter, our first family vacation and a graduation from law school. I'm so thankful that there was this blog!

"I found a camera on Chesterman Beach near Tofino, BC - Canada around Jan. 1, 2009. It has around 600+ images on the card. Willing to mail this camera to the rightful owner once they properly identify it."

"I found myself holding an intoxicated woman's camera on New Year's Eve in Vegas when she disappeared. I am still in possession of said camera and would love to return it. She took 331 pictures and am guessing she would love to have them and her camera back."

"I found a lost camera in a NYC taxi on Jan. 10, 2009. I have included some of the pictures below. I lost my camera with awesome pictures from the Amazon this year and I never got them back. I want to get this camera to its home so they don't feel like I did."

Subject: Found Photo

I received a box of picture frames from Freecycle. One of the frames had this picture in it. I contacted the person I got the frames from and told her that one of them still had a photo in it and asked if she wanted it back. She told me there was no need to return it. I didn't ask why but I didnt want to just toss it out.

If anyone knows who the man in the picture is please let me know. The bottom right hand of the mat says "Rogers Studios." The only thing written on back is the letter "J" but it looks like it may have been written by the studio where the picture was taken.

"I found a pink Fujifilm Fine Pix camera on the east side of Milwaukee, WI., near UW-Milwaukee campus the morning of January 4th. The camera was found demolished and damaged beyond repair, but I salvaged the 4 GB memory card. I am more than happy to return the card to the owner, but I have tossed the camera as it was so badly destroyed."

"I found a memory card in the bushes outside the Hut on the path to the top of Mt. Washington (New Hampshire) on Sept. 7, 2008. I wasn't sure what to do with the pictures, but recently stumbled across your website. I hope the owners can be found! They seem very adventurous!"

"I found a 2 GB Sandisk memory card at the pumpkin patch on Sauvies Island just outside of Portland, Oregon. I found it just before Halloween and forgot about it until recently. Here are a few of the photos from the disk. Anyone know these people?"

Subject: here's a story for you about a lost camera...

I lost my camera last night at The Pasta Bowl restaurant in the Lincoln Park
neighborhood of Chicago. It is a Nikon D70 with a red/black strap, in a black Lowepro case.

I've attached a picture of my little brother that I know for sure is on the memory card that is in the camera.

I also made a posting on craigslist:
http://chicago.craigslist.org/chc/laf/991235984.html

and a posting on my Flickr account:

Please find it in your hear to help me find my camera. Taking photographs is the way
I capture the stories of my life, it is why I wake up everyday.

Thank you,

Jen

Found this cute polaroid photo inside a used book I purchased last month in Seattle. If anyone recognizes these people, I'd be happy to mail it to them.

One year has passed since IFoundYourCamera.net started.

We would like to thank your for your continued support in helping to track down the owners of the orphan pictures found on this blog - we would not be successful without you.

Check back next Thursday for a new set of orphan pictures, as well further changes and improvements to the blog over the next few months.

In the meantime, below are the cameras you helped reunite in the last year.

NEW YORK - REUNITED MARCH 2008

Most people seem to appreciate the site, like George Metz, a 66-year-old Pennsylvania resident who lost his camera during Mardi Gras in New Orleans. A picture of him during a visit to Fantasy of Flight in Florida was posted on www.Ifoundyourcamera.net and Metz heard about it when a fellow member of a Star Wars re-enactment group spotted it — through his computer in Denmark.
